Q1: Is the transmission distance different between stranded and solid copper cable?
A1: At the same 24AWG size, stranded conductor DC resistance is slightly higher than solid conductor. At the 100-meter limit, stranded cable has a little less attenuation margin. In real use, stranded cable is mainly for patch cords. Standard patch cord lengths are 1m to 10m. In this range, electrical performance is almost the same as solid cable.
Q2: How many times can this cat5e stranded cable be plugged and unplugged?
A2: Cable bend life depends on use frequency and bend angle. With high-quality RJ45 plugs, plug life can reach over 1,000 times in normal data center management. For longer plug life, we suggest 15μ" or thicker gold plating.
