What This Cable Is
The cat6a direct attach cable is a finished cable with connectors on both ends. It is made for direct device-to-device links in data centers. It uses an S/FTP shielded twisted pair structure. Both ends have pre-crimped high-performance RJ45 plugs. It is designed for 10G copper direct links between switches, servers, and storage devices. Compared with optical modules plus fiber, copper direct attach costs less and has lower delay. This Product is good for short 10G links inside a cabinet or between adjacent cabinets.
Where It Fits
Buyers first check the device port and link distance. This cat6a direct attach cable fits data center cabinet server to TOR switch 10G direct links. It fits 10G interconnects between adjacent cabinet switches. It fits storage device to compute node low-delay direct links. It fits high-performance computing cluster node interconnects. It also fits temporary 10G device direct links in test labs. This Product works with all standard RJ45 ports. The table below shows the main fit points.

Technical Specifications
The cat6a direct attach cable uses 23AWG solid bare copper. The shield structure is individual aluminum foil plus overall braid. Electrical margins at 500MHz are sufficient. The RJ45 plugs use 3-prong 50μ" gold-plated contacts. The housing is full metal shielded. It connects to the cable shield with 360-degree continuity. This keeps shield continuity from cable to device. Each Product is tested with a Fluke DSX-8000 channel test and a TDR test. A test report is included. Length is cut to order from 0.5m to 30m. Plug color and jacket color are optional. Common stock lengths are 1m, 2m, 3m, and 5m.

How to Choose the Right Model
Buyers often need custom lengths and colors for the Product. We support any length from 0.5m to 30m. Length accuracy is ±0.05m. Gold plating can be 50μ" or 30μ". Jacket colors come in 8 standard colors. This helps distinguish network systems such as management, storage, and business networks. Plug boots can print your brand or use custom colors. This Product is a good choice for data center 10G direct links. Samples ship in 5 to 7 working days.
Quality Testing and OEM Support
We test each cat6a direct attach cable with a Fluke DSX-8000 channel test and a TDR test. The Product meets TIA/EIA-568-C.2. A test report is included. We check shield continuity, contact resistance, and 10G performance. For OEM orders, you can customize length, gold plating, color, print, and packaging. If you need a quote, send us your length, gold plating, color, and order quantity.
FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between cat6a direct attach cable and a normal Cat6a patch cord?
A1: They use the same cable and plugs. But direct attach cable focuses more on connector shield continuity and strict factory testing. Each direct attach cable comes with an independent Fluke test report. The name difference is mainly about application. Direct attach cable is for cabinet device direct links. Patch cords are for panel-to-device links.
Q2: What is the transmission delay of this cable?
A2: Cat6a copper cable delay is about 5.4 nanoseconds per meter, one way. A 5-meter direct attach cable has about 27 nanoseconds delay. This is much lower than fiber. For high-frequency trading and other delay-sensitive finance applications, copper direct attach is still the most cost-effective choice.
