Patch cords, as a crucial component of cabling systems, have long suffered from neglected testing. Testing of patch cords has only been addressed in standards within the last two years. Several standards published subsequently, including:

①TIA/EIA-568-A-4-1999: Transmission Delay and Delay Deviation Specification for 100-Ohm 4-Pair Cables

②TIA/EIA-568-A-5-2000: 100-Ohm 4-Pair Enhanced Category 5 Cabling Specification

③TIA/EIA-568-B Part 2: 100Ω Balanced Twisted Pair Component Standard, cover patch cord testing methods and requirements for Ca.5 and Cat.5e. The TIA/EIA-568B.2-1 Category 6 cabling standard provides specific requirements for patch cords.

Original manufacturer patch cords are manufactured with rigorous processes, employ multi-strand flexible wire design, and can withstand numerous repeated insertions and removals.
